The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue class is one of the most valuable next steps a diver can take. This program is designed to help you recognize stress early, prevent small issues from turning into emergencies, and respond effectively if a problem does occur.
You will learn how to identify signs of stress in yourself and other divers, improve situational awareness, and use practical rescue techniques both at the surface and underwater. The training combines classroom learning with confined water and open water practice, so you build real confidence through repetition and hands-on skill work.
This class also emphasizes self-rescue, assisting tired or panicked divers, surfacing procedures, and responding to unconscious diver scenarios. It is serious training, but it is also a great confidence-builder that helps you become a calmer, more capable dive buddy.
Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue certification.
